Park Hyunsu’s art world has been so inquisitive about is that of light. The art of light attempted by him is perceived as structure and spirit of light conceptually. He produces a world of light with the hierarchical color fields painted on the canvas as well as with the structure of the fragmented forms arranged thereupon. His formative activities start from dripping colors onto the canvas. Then, the physiological phenomena of colors are experimented: spreading, pushing, mixing, covering, permeating and flowing. Lastly, the artist skims off the surface of semi-dried colors with a rubber knife to create diverse fragmented forms. The fragments engraved over time will show up again colors, and soon, they will become signs, opening a way toward history, universe and life.
