김명식 작가는 인간과 집이라는 두 개의 대상을 조합시켜 ‘이스트 사이드 스토리’ 연작을 발표했다. 행복의 출발점인 집은 사람의 얼굴처럼 다양한 표정과 형상과 질감을 갖고 있다. 작가는 집의 색과 형태를 특유의 감성으로 다스려 우리가 추구하는 희망과 평화, 새로움을 상징적으로 해석하고 있다.
Painter Kim Myung Sik has been working on a series of 'East Side Story' by combining two subjects: a human and a house. A house, the starting point of happiness, has various expressions, shapes, and textures just like a human face. The artist manages the color and shape of a house with a unique sensibility, symbolically interpreting the hope, peace and novelty we seek.
