1983년에 설립된 가나아트는 국내외에서 다양한 전시를 기획할 뿐 아니라, 국제적인 행사에도 꾸준히 참여하며 한국미술 문화의 발전을 위해 노력해 왔다. 가나아트는 한국의 대표적인 현대미술 갤러리로서 대중에게 국내 미술가들의 실험적인 작품을 소개하고, 세계적인 미술가들의 작품을 전시함으로써 한국미술 문화 발전에 지속적으로 기여하고자 한다. 2018년에는 동시대의 국내외 미술 동향에 대응하는 ‘가나아트 사운즈’, 2020년에는 ‘가나아트 나인원’을 한남동에 새롭게 개관했으며, 신진작가 발굴 및 지원, 대중을 위한 프로젝트형 전시를 진행함으로써 미술의 대중화를 실현하고, 삶과 예술의 조화를 추구하고자 한다.
